About Us

About Us Inpress Limited provides sales, marketing and distribution for small, independent publishers in the UK. Funded by Arts Council England, Inpress offers its members' titles for sale directly to book lovers everywhere. Based in Ealing, West London, we exist to help small presses achieve wider exposure for their published output each year.

Our Website allows purchasers to deal directly with independent publishers. Ordering from this site ensures that the publisher receives a significantly higher share of the book cover price.

Why not explore the finer side of literature with an eclectic choice of books and magazines!

Shopping Online is easy with Inpress and we ofer:

  • Secure online ordering.
  • Free UK delivery *
  • Fast delivery in the UK, we usually deliver within 2 working days of despatch.
  • 30 day returns guarantee if not satisfied.
  • A huge selection of titles from which to choose

* Please note that regretfully, Magma Magazine has had to institute a shipping charge of £0.75 for each issue, to UK purchasers.

A note for aspiring writers:

Inpress is not a publisher and we regret that we cannot accept manuscripts on behalf of our members.

If you have a book you would like to submit to one of our publishers, please visit the 'publishers' menu and obtain contact details from the individual publisher 'home' pages within the site.

To avoid rejection, please try to match your writing with the genres published by individual members. If you write poetry, it's always useful to read some of the titles published by different presses to try and establish what it is about the author and his or her writing, that appeals.

If you make submissions to our Magazine publishers - it helps them enormously if you buy issues or subscribe to the magazine. Small magazine publishers often work for love, not money and every subscription helps them to keep going!

WORKING WITH ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND

Membership and Diversity

Inpress provides support to small independent publishers across the UK (and one English-language publisher in the Russian Federation), giving all our member presses sales exposure in a highly competitive market.

Inpress aims to helps its publishers promote authors of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction to a wide and diverse audience and to provide an international presence for our member presses via our website.  Our members publish across a wide spectrum of genres, although the main focus is on poetry.  Several members have growing fiction lists and some publish in very specialised sub-genres including: African poetry, translated poetry, Arab Literature in translation, Travel, Children’s books,  History, Russian Literature in translation and Jewish History.

We aim to support the development of literature titles and increase the audience for our books by signing up publishers from different cultural and social backgrounds as members. It should be noted however, that any potential members must meet our membership criteria, which are endorsed by ACE.

(To ask for a membership application form please use the 'contact us' page)

We have a published equal opportunities policy and believe in promoting diversity and equality.  When recruiting staff, we seek actively to employ from the local community.   We are committed to ensuring that all our activities are carried out ethically and with integrity.
