Launch of London China Book Festival

The London China Book Festival was launched this week at Hatchards Piccadilly, London’s oldest bookstore, in conjunction with the President of China’s UK visit. At the launch of the event, the Publishers Association's director for publisher relations Emma House met with Guo Guang, president of China Youth Press International, who hosted the event. The launch featured speeches from notable figures in publishing including Richard Charkin, executive director of Bloomsbury and president of the International Publishers Association; Guo Weimin who highlighted the importance of the relationship of arts and culture between China and the UK.

Various bookstores and cultural centres across London will be taking part by promoting books from the China’s 100 Top English Titles from the country’s leading publishers. The festival runs until the end of October and is part of the Chinese Year of Cultural Exchange which supports the mutual understanding across different cultures.
