Nassif Falak was born in 1954 in Iraq. He is a poet and novelist, whose first novel was published by the Baghdadi newspaper Assabah in 2006, and sold on news-stands. He fled Iraq in early 1980s, and spent many years trying to find refuge, only to be arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment when he returned home.
