Collection: Ruth Henderson

Ruth Henderson is a proud Geordie from North Shields where her ancestors mined endless tunnels of coal and fought the pitiless North Sea from the open deck of a trawler. Her passion for her large family and the area that formed them is the foundation for her award winning stories. Living now in Cullercoats, where the sea is a constant background and inspiration, she also writes short stories, many of which have been broadcast on Radio Four; you may also have seen her historic sketches in some of Tynemouth Pageant's annual productions. While currently engrossed in another novel, she still finds time to teach creative writing for North Tyneside Libraries, and is enthusiastically involved in a play writing initiative at Live Theatre. As long as a project calls for imagination and words Ruth will meet the challenge.
