Meet the Team
As managing director of Inpress it is Sophie's role to ensure the smooth running and growth of Inpress, ensuring we achieve the best possible sales, marketing and business development for our publishers while keeping the core values of ACE at the centre of the work we do.
Sophie brings to Inpress experience of both independent and corporate publishing. Before joining Inpress she was Head of Sales at leading independent publisher, Canongate Books.
Prior to that she worked at Headline Publishing, part of the Hachette Group, starting in export sales and moving into Key Account management in the UK sales department.
Emily is responsible for all things finance at Inpress. She pays great attention to detail and likes to ensure everything adds up.
She also manages our eBook publishing, helping publishers digitise their books and making them available for sale worldwide.
The longest serving member of staff, she knows the workings of Inpress inside out. However she is not one to shy away from new projects and testing challenges.
She studied English Literature with French at Newcastle University and has since considered Newcastle her home.
Rebecca is the Sales & Marketing Executive, which translates in real terms as "general dogsbody." Whether hassling bookshops, designing marketing materials, organising events or managing the website her to-do list is an exponentially increasing object of ridicule in the Inpress office.
She also represents Inpress on the steering committee of T-Junction, a four-day poetry festival of readings, workshops, performances, debates, master-classes and guest-lectures in Middlesbrough.
A lifelong Newcastle resident with a healthy disdain for all other cities, she uses her cat as an excuse to avoid leaving unless absolutely necessary.
Yen-Yen was a Sales & Marketing intern at Inpress and is now a contributor to the website.
She has always had a love of books and graduated in July with a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Roehampton in London.
She is a Ravenclaw.
