Catherine Taylor is a writer and teacher. Her first book, Giving Birth: A Journey into the World of Mothers and Midwives (Penguin, 2002), won the Lamaze International Birth Advocate Award. As a producer, her documentary film The Exiles won an Emmy Award. She teaches at Ithaca College, New York.
