Margaret Wilkinson is a playwright and short-story writer. Recipient of an Arts Council Award to travel to Russia, Ukraine and the USA to research Anton Chekhov and Raymond Carver, she wrote a play, Kaput, weaving together their short stories. Her latest radio play, Passover, was recently broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour. Passionate about the short story, she was one of the creators of the campaign to Save Our Short Story. She teaches prose and scriptwriting on the MA in Creative Writing course at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
