Miles Salter is a writer and musician based in York. His first novel for teenagers, A Song For Nicky Moon, was shortlisted for the Times/Chicken House Children’s Writing Award (Last Dance, 2010; ISBN 9781904446217). His first poetry collection (writing as Miles Cain), The Border, was published by Valley Press in 2011 (ISBN 9780956890443). He has also written for several newspapers including the Guardian and the Independent. His poems have appeared in magazines including The Rialto, Ambit, Orbis and South Bank Poetry. Miles is currently director of York Literature Festival.
