Peter Robinson was born in Salford, Lancashire, in 1953 and is currently Head of Department and Professor of English and American Literature at the University of Reading, as well as poetry editor for Two Rivers Press. Winner of the Cheltenham Prize, the John Florio Prize, and two Poetry Book Society Recommendations for his poetry and translations, he has also published four books of literary criticism, two of aphoristic prose, a collection of his interviews, and various editions, collections of essays and anthologies. Among his many publications are Selected Poems (Carcanet Press, 2003), English Nettles and Other Poems (Two Rivers Press, 2010), and The Returning Sky (Shearsman Books, 2012).
