Collection: Siddhartha Bose

Siddhartha Bose is a writer, performer, and academic based in London. He grew up in Mumbai and Kolkata, followed by a seven year stint in the USA. His work has appeared and is forthcoming internationally in various literary journals including The Wolf, Fulcrum, Tears in the Fence, Eclectica, Alhamra Literary Review, Soundings and Litro. His poetry has also been selected for the major anthologies, City State: New London Poetry (Penned in the Margins, 2009) and Voice Recognition: 21 Poets for the 21st Century ( Bloodaxe , 2009). A selection of his work has appeared in a special issue of The Literary Review (USA), edited by Sudeep Sen, which focuses on contemporary Indian poets from around the world. Siddhartha is a regular reader on the London literary scene, having performed his work at venues including the Whitechapel Art Gallery , the Troubador, the Museum of London and the Royal College of Art. His poetry has been aired on Resonance FM, the UK Poetry Podcast, and on The Times Online website. He has been a featured reader at numerous festivals including the Poet in the City/City of London festival, the Battle of Ideas Festival, the Coventry International Literature Festival, the West London Literature Festival, and the Spitalfields Music Festival. He was recently commissioned to write a performance piece for the ‘Shakespeare in Shoreditch’ event at the London Word Festival. With Stephen Watts, he co-hosts Beeswax, a new live poetry venture in East London. He also teaches poetry and Shakespeare, while finishing a PhD on the grotesque at Queen Mary, University of London. He was recently dubbed one of the "ten rising stars of British poetry" by The Times.
