Burning Eye's Selina Nwulu announced as Young Poet Laureate

Last week was a tremendous week for poetry, with National Poetry Day taking place on Thursday. In the same week, Selina Nwulu, recently published by Burning Eye Books with her collection 'The Secrets I Let Slip', was announced as London's Young Poet Laureate 2015/16 by London’s writer development agency Spread the Word. She was commended on her poems for the 'skill and subtlety that lift them well out of the ordinary' and her 'confidence and conviction' in spoken performances.
