Managing Director
Emily Keeling is the Managing Director of Inpress Books and The Poetry Book Society. The longest-serving member of staff, she has over a decade of experience with Inpress and a deep understanding of its operations. Previously Finance Manager, Emily played a key role in shaping financial strategy and developing digital publishing services. She studied English Literature with French at Newcastle University and is passionate about supporting independent publishers and championing bold, distinctive literary voices.
 
Deputy Managing Director
Jane Pike is the Deputy Managing Director of Inpress Books and The Poetry Book Society. She joined Inpress in 2018 and manages trade sales to key accounts, maintaining direct relationships with all major UK booksellers and distributors. Jane brings extensive publishing experience from roles at Canongate, Simon & Schuster, and Hodder & Stoughton, having begun her career in production at The British Museum Press. She studied at Durham University and Royal Holloway, University of London, and is based in London.

Finance Executive
Megan is all about making sure things add up here at Inpress and the Poetry Book Society. As well as overseeing finance, she is the face of our weekly books roundup, Meg's Monday Muse, and supports Inpress publishers with eBooks. Megan also writes poetry under the name Megan Pattie. Her publications are Tracts (The Black Light Engine Room, 2021) and Bertha Comes Down (Broken Sleep Books, 2026).
 
Maternity Cover: Sales & Marketing Manager
Rebecca first joined Inpress Books from Blackwell’s in 2013, and spent a decade leading sales campaigns, managing publisher relationships, and overseeing digital projects. After a successful period as E-Commerce Manager at St Oswald’s Hospice she has returned to Inpress in a maternity cover role, continuing her mission to amplify the reach of brilliant independent publishers. Rebecca also volunteers with The People’s Kitchen and the Amnesty International Bookshop in Newcastle. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, yoga, and going on holiday as much as possible.
 
Sales & Marketing Manager
Ceris joined Inpress as Sales & Marketing Manager on a freelance basis in summer 2023. She is based near Edinburgh, and was Head of Sales and Marketing at Sandstone Press before working for Inpress.
 
London & South East Sales Rep
Before Inpress, Kate worked as a bookseller at Brick Lane Bookshop; she also created their Short Story Prize which she still runs. Kate studied Fine Art and has an MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck. She’s based in London.
 
Poetry Book Society Manager
Alice Kate Mullen has been Manager of the Poetry Book Society since 2016. She designs and produces the quarterly Bulletin magazine in-house, runs the PBS marketing, membership and renewal campaigns, as well as special projects and events. She’s worked in poetry publishing since 2010, including at Carcanet Press and PN Review. Prior to that she worked in bookselling and events at Waterstones, Shakespeare & Company in Paris, on a Chicago Poetry Foundation mentorship and as a Sydney Writers’ Festival Bibliotherapist. She co-founded the Northern Poetry Symposium in 2017, co-programmes Newcastle Poetry Festival and sits on the Poetry Translation Centre Advisory Board. She was recently selected as an India-UK British Council International Publishing Fellow and represented UK poetry at Jaipur Literature Festival, Bhutan Book Festival and a Beijing Poetry Festival.
 
Sales & Marketing Executive
Lucy is the Sales and Marketing Assistant at Inpress Books, where she plays a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day operations of the business. With a strong understanding of administrative operations, bibliographic data, and marketing, Lucy ensures efficient title management, while collaborating closely with colleagues to drive targeted marketing campaigns and support trade sales initiatives. Alongside supporting our general events programme, she also leads on the Inpress Books WriteFestival programme and other events.
Lucy is the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Lamb, and her professional experience spans traditional marketing, film & TV, and content development. She's also a Forbes 30 Under 30 and was shortlisted for Best Fiction Novel at the 2025 Books are my Bag Awards in 2025.
