Collection: Alison Brackenbury
Alison Brackenbury was born in 1953 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. She studied for an English degree at St Hugh’s College, Oxford. She has worked as a librarian in a technical college (1976-83), then as a part-time accounts and clerical assistant (1985-1989). Since 1990 she has worked in the family metal finishing business. Her poetry has previously been published by Carcanet, as well as in The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Independent and The Sunday Times and in a myriad of magazines worldwide. She is married, with one daughter, and lives in Gloucestershire.
