MPT’s autumn issue ‘The Tangled Route’ focuses on Uruguayan poetry, with a selection of new translations of Líber Falco, Horacio Cavallo, Paula Simonetti, Marielle Nigro, Laura Chalar, Laura Cesarco Eglin and Ida Vitale. The translations are accompanied by a conversation between Laura Chalar and Laura Cesarco Eglin on exile, identity and literature in a country whose literature is often associated with migration. The issue also features selections of poems by the Russian sci-fi writer Fedor Svarovsky, Iraqi poet Mariam Alatar’s fierce engagement with contemporary Iraq, Sangram Jena’s lyrical memories of India and Spanish novelist and poet Pilar Adón’s troubled landscapes.
