Collection: Bobbie Darbyshire
Bobbie Darbyshire was born in London, and after dallying in Kent, Cheshire and Sussex she eventually settled in London for good. Now a full-time writer, she has in her time worked as barmaid, mushroom picker, film extra, maths coach, cabinet minister’s private secretary, volunteer adult-literacy teacher, and care assistant, as well as in social research and policy.
Bobbie’s novels are Truth Games (Cinnamon Press, 2009) and Love, Revenge & Buttered Scones (Sandstone Press, 2010), longlisted for the 2011 International Rubery Book Award, and Oz, longlisted in the Chapter One Promotions novel competition 2012. Bobbie won the 2008 Fiction Prize at the National Academy of Writing, and their anthology Finding a Voice includes her short story 'Something Missing'. Her piece 'Beads on a String' won the New Delta Review Creative Nonfiction Prize 2010, and is published in the New Delta Review Vol. 27. Her work has also appeared in Leaf Magazine and Mslexia.
