D. Huw Owen is a former keeper of Pictures and Maps at the National Library of Wales. He is an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Wales, and of Chapel – the Welsh Chapels Heritage Society, and is a trustee of the Welsh Religious Buildings Trust. His Welsh language survey of Welsh Chapels, Capeli Cymru, was published in 2005 by Y Lolfa.
