Collection: Gabriel Rosenstock
Gabriel Rosenstock is among the major figures in Irish language writing, and the author or editor of over 100 collections of poetry and translations. Throughout his work he has consistently explored themes of spirituality through his witty, formally-adventurous verse. In his new collection of poems, written in Irish and translated by the author himself, he draws on the Indian devotional tradition known as bhakti in order to explore the nature and significance of the goddess, making a bridge between eastern and western approaches, and resulting in a spiritual and, typically, spirited collection of poems that should have a wide appeal for both Irish language and English language readers alike.
