Julian Turner was born in 1955 in Cheadle Hulme, educated at New College Oxford and Goldsmith's College London. He has worked most of his life in the mental health field, and is currently Chief Executive at Leeds Mind. There has always been a counterpoint between the people stuff and the more solitary pursuit of writing. He lives with his partner and his daughter in Otley, West Yorkshire.
