Collection: root-catalog > Root > Author > S > Laura Scott
I have been writing poetry seriously since 2007: my poems have appeared in magazines such as Magma, Rialto, Envoi, Poetry News and Ink, Tate Etc, Sweat & Tears, and in the last year or so I have been working towards a first collection with support from the Arts Council.
I have always been interested in the moments when words break down into images, when language won't do what's required of it, and stammering becomes a kind of eloquence. I wrote about this in critical terms some years ago when I was doing a PhD in literature, but now I am exploring the same questions more directly through my own creative work.
I grew up in London, but now live in Norwich. I am an experienced teacher, having worked on many literature courses at the University of East Anglia, and run a variety of creative writing workshops at Norwich University College of the Arts.
