Shortlisted for the 2012 Ted Hughes Award, Mario Petrucci holds the Bridport Prize, a Silver Wyvern Award, the Irish Times Perpetual Trophy, an Arts Council England Writers’ Award and a New London Writers Award. The only poet to have held residencies at the Imperial War Museum and with BBC Radio 3, he has secured prizes in the National Poetry Competition and was outright winner of the London Writers Competition on four occasions. Shrapnel and Sheets (Headland, 1996) received a PBS Recommendation, while Heavy Water: a poem for Chernobyl (Enitharmon, 2004) captured the Daily Telegraph/ Arvon Prize. His larger poem-sequence, i tulips, was published by Enitharmon in 2010 and is followed by anima, his latest collection, published by Nine Arches Press in May 2013.
