Collection: Millicent A. A. Graham
Millicent A. A. Graham was born 1974 and lives in Kingston, Jamaica where she is a practicing Information Architect with an MSc in Human Centred Computer Systems from the University of Sussex.
Her interest in poetry began in childhood, rummaging through the family bookshelf where she found Keats, Dickinson and other classic works.
Millicent pursued this interest through local societies and later became a member of the Wayne Brown Writers Workshop where she continues to develop her voice and style.
A beneficiary of the Calabash Writer’s Workshop Fellowship, her connection with the Calabash International Literary Festival Trust has exposed her to contemporary writers and new ways of approaching the page.
Through these valuable influences she has won local awards for her poetry including the well-established Observer Literary Award for Poetry in 2005 and silver and bronze in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Literary Arts Competition in 2005 & 2007.
