Nigel Folds has been a librarian, rag queen, art teacher, monk, beach comber, and is now a painter with a studio in Bridlington. His paintings are regularly exhibited in galleries throughout the area. In 2010 he was asked to respond to a series of poems written by friend, neighbour and Valley Press author Deirdre McGarry, without seeing the original set of paintings that had inspired Deirdre's writing. The resulting combination of art, poetry (and on some occasions, music) formed an exhibition known as Lonely Destiny, which was published in book form by Valley Press in March 2011.
