Penny Aldred won first prize in the Northern Echo/Orange short story competition in 2004. Her stories have appeared in Aesthetica, on BBC Radio 4’s Afternoon Reading and turned into live art in Urbis as part of Manchester Literature Festival. She lives in West Yorkshire. Her story 'Rich Tea and Custard Creams' features in Wonderwall and 'It's a Hard Rain' in Ideas Above Our Station.
