The London Magazine is England’s oldest literary periodical, with a history stretching back to 1732. The pages of the Magazine have played host to a wide range of canonical writers, from Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Hazlitt and John Keats in the 18th-century, to T.S. Eliot, W.H. Auden and Evelyn Waugh in the early 20th-century. Today – reinvigorated for a new century – the Magazine’s essence remains unchanged: it is a home for the best writing and an indispensable feature on the British literary landscape.

Our August/September 2017 issue features Tara Stubbs on T. S. Eliot, Sally Emerson on My London, Will Stone on the Cathedral of Soissons, Tony Roberts on Robert Lowell, Ella Windsor on Nicolás García Uriburu and Land Art, M.Lock Swingen on Remembering Derek Walcott, as well as Grey Gowrie on Heathcote Williams, and Alistair Lexden on Lord Northcote.

Poetry from Daniel Morrissey, James Simpson, Raficq Abdulla, Suzannah V. Evans, Peter Ainsworth, Katrina Naomi, Heathcote Williams, Fiona Pitt-Keghley and Debra Wierenga. Short Fiction by Dan Powell and Stephanie de Giorgio. Reviewers include Andrew Lambirth, Sue Hubbard, Will Stone, Simon Tait, Jeffrey Meyers, Houman Barekat, Conor Carville and Matthew Scott.
