William Bedford is an award-winning poet, short-story writer and novelist, his work appearing in Agenda, Critical Quarterly, Encounter, The Daily Telegraph, Essays in Criticism, The Independent Magazine, The International Literary Quarterly, London Magazine, London Review of Books, The Nation (New York), Poetry Review, The Southern Review, The Tablet, The Ted Hughes Society Journal, Temenos, The Warwick Review, The Washington Times and many others around the world. His novel Happiland was shortlisted for the 1990 Guardian Fiction Prize. His selected poems, Collecting Bottle Tops, and selected short stories, None of the Cadillacs Was Pink, were both published in 2009. His poem ‘Then’ won First Prize in the 2014 Roundel Poetry Competition. His poem ‘The Journey’ won First Prize in the 2014 London Magazine International Poetry Competition. A short-story, ‘The Herring Lass,’ was shortlisted for the 2014 London Magazine International Short Story Competition. Red Squirrel Press published The Fen Dancing in March 2014.
