Tracing her inheritance as a Presbyterian minister's daughter and her childhood in Northern Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s, Elizabeth Dunford examines family relationships and how they change, including the gradual reversal of roles as parents live into extreme old age, the impact of autism and ADHD in family members, and the challenges and rewards of neurodivergence in the home. The natural world provides a source of strength and renewal, as does carving out moments to write.
