Dennis Butts, born in Worcestershire 1932, read English at Oxford University. He was a former Chairman of the Children’s Books History Society, and taught the MA Course in Children’s Literature at Reading University. He has written on many aspects of nineteenth-century literature and children’s books. He lives in Earley, Reading.
