The illustrated biography of two generations of the famous Luppino family. Thomas Frederick Luppino (1749-1845) was a scene painter at Covent Garden and Drury Lane, and kept a sketchbook of the area around Hertford where he lived. His grandson, Thomas William Luppino (1790-1859) was an accomplished organist, music teacher and impresario of controversial music evenings. The sketchbook is published here for the first time.
