Published to accompany the third series of Wild Tracks, HTV's most successful programme, this book follows twelve of Trevor Fishlock's walks in Wales. Not a guidebook so much as an itinerary of places of historical and cultural interest, Fishlock meets local characters and searches out the oddities of history in Wales.

Fishlock's writing has a clarity and descriptive quality which is matched by stills taken from the television series. Although the films are broadcast only in Wales and on cable television, armchair travellers and everyone with an interest in the matter of Britain will find something to charm or puzzle them in this book.

The Walks: The South Gower Coast; The Taff Trail to Cardiff; the North Anglesey Coast, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path; Llansteffan to Llandowror; the Gwent Borderlands around Abergavenny and Skenfrith; Montgomery to Gregynog; the Ysytwyth Valley; the Wye Valley; Nantlle and Conwy; the Dysenni Valley; the Honddu Valley around Brecon and Tretower. Each walk is illustrated by stills from the accompanying television film and a hand-drawn map featuring the places mentioned in the text.

Trevor Fishlock is a writer and broadcaster. He was staff correspondent of The Times in India and New York, and Moscow bureau chief for The Daily Telegraph. He has worked on assignment in more than sixty countries and has written books about Wales, India, America and Russia. He writes and presents the popular Wild Tracks series for ITV, now in its ninth year, and Fishlock's Sea Stories for BBC Wales. He lives in Cardiff.
